Hi Babes,

In this blog post we would like to give you a rundown of what our typical workday looks like as founders of Undersea Bikini.

Usually I wake up around 9 o‘clock (don‘t judge me.. chilled island lifestyle) and while I‘m becoming conscious enough, I grab  my phone to check it. That‘s the first thing I do.

9 out of 10 times there are a couple of messages waiting for me from Móni, so I open those ones first. If we need to discuss something important, we do, if not, I continue to read my emails and customer messages.

Once I read everything, I start my day with our social media platforms.

First of all, I post a picture on Instagram and Facebook, write a caption then I prepare the stories for the day.  I plan our feed a week in advance as I believe that a pre-planned content is the key of having a beautiful feed and I really like that I can see my posts all together before I post them.

After this mornin‘ social media ritual, I get out of the bed and I am heading to the kitchen to make a big coffee or a smoothie with some healthy food. Usually I eat soya yoghurt with fruits and cereals.

With this brekkie in my hand I walk to my office which is located right next to our bedroom and I switch my laptop on to continue my work on there.

I answer my emails; update our Insta Shop and then continue my day with our current projects.

As I am responsible for the image of the brand, normally I always edit or design something: pictures I shot, logos we use, new products, new patterns, roll-ups, flyers, hangtags, etc.

At the moment, we are working hard on our 2020 collection so my daily tasks are mainly about the new image and products. Unfortunately, I can‘t tell much about it as we would like to keep all the future details secret, but what I can tell is that our next campaign requires a lot of work in front of the computer.

Beside the image of the brand I am also responsible for the photo shootings and collaborations with other parties so I am constantly in contact with our models / model agencies, our influencers, charity organizations or I am seeking for new opportunities.

Usually I work 8-9 hours per day but it can be more or less. Depends. If I am really into something, I can work 10-11 hours without any break, but I try to have some free time in the evening to spend it with my boyfriend, go to the gym or meet my friends.

Even tho there are disadvantages of working for yourself from home (for example: you spend most of your time in your house, you don‘t meet other people so often anymore, you have less time for your other hobbies) I really appreciate this work and I am very happy and motivated every day.

Generally I wake up around 7-8 A.M. I give a goodbye kiss to my husband  as he leaves early for work and I walk into my office (which is also in my apartment) right after.

First, I open my laptop and go through all my business emails and customer messages and try to quickly answer to the easy ones. However, the complicated ones have to wait until my coffee session.

Right after, I go outside to the balcony to get some fresh air, drink my coffee and plan my day. This is when I organize and prioritize my tasks for the day and make a schedule.

Once I managed everything in my head, I make a quick breakfast (my all time favourite is the avo toast with boiled eggs). However, there are some days when I don’t have time for breakfast at all so I just skip it and desperately look forward to get some lunch 😀

Packaging. That’s one of my daily priority tasks. Fortunately, we have a lot of orders, so it takes me a while to get ready with the parcels. Sometimes I’m packaging the orders for 4 hours without taking any break, but sometimes I get help so we finish it in 1-2 hours.

Next, I get back to my desk and start to work on our current projects, which requires more time and concentration. For example, I have to plan the budget and business plan of our collaborations, advertisements, innovations, developments, production, etc. As we get many business offers, we also have brainstorming sessions to look at potential partners and my responsibility is to negotiate and make final agreements with them while keeping in mind the interests of our business.

These kind of tasks require hours and hours of focused concentration so I’m more than happy when I find any excuse to go out.  Visiting our production plant is definitely one of these. I check 1-2 times a week if everything is going well and try to keep the whole production process under control. I always need to keep track if we have enough material, accessories for the bikinis and get them if we don’t.

Usually I work 9-10 hours per day, almost every day. I have already realized that it is very unhealthy, so now I’m trying hard to slow down a bit and keep my evenings, even my weekends work free. When my working hours are done whether I go to the gym, I meet my friends in the city or I rest with my husband at home.

It is hard to sum up one day in general as our job is very various, but we tried to show you how our days look like in general.

When you have your own business it is very hard to slow down and give yourself enough spare time, because your mind is always in overdrive. We don‘t mind it tho, we like to keep ourselves busy. Not to mention that due to our work we educate ourselves a lot and the more we know about the environmental issues the more conscious we are becoming in our lives and in business.
